With his Surface Lamp for the Objets Nomades Collection, Oki Sato, the inspired designer behind the Nendo Studio, has encased light in leather. A rechargeable lamp is shaped by a sheet of Nomade leather, perforated to reveal a subtle gradient interpretation of the emblematic Louis Vuitton Damier motif when the light is on. Between uses, it rolls up and fits into a handy carrying harness, for 'nomadism' at its best.
